Answers, with all the caveats.
What does it cost to take a deposit?+
GreenlitBid adds a small platform fee on top of standard Stripe processing: 0.9% on card deposits and 0.5% on ACH. On a $4,600 deposit, ACH runs about $23 — versus the days you'd wait for a mailed check. There are no per-proposal or per-estimate charges, ever.
How does the 14-day free trial work?+
No credit card to start. You get full Pro features for 14 days. On day 7 there's a light activation gate — you'll need to have created at least one estimate or proposal to keep going, because GreenlitBid only earns its keep once you've actually quoted a job. Add a card any time before day 14 to continue; otherwise the account simply pauses.
Is the in-app e-signature actually legally binding?+
Yes. GreenlitBid's e-signature is compliant with the federal ESIGN Act and the state-level UETA, the same legal framework DocuSign relies on. Every signature is captured with a timestamped audit trail — signer IP, device, and sign time — that holds up the same as ink on paper. The Crew plan also includes premium certified e-sign via BoldSign.
How accurate is the AI, and what's the review badge?+
Claude generates a complete line-item estimate priced to your market — but AI is a starting point, not gospel. Every AI-generated row carries a 🤖 review badge for 24 hours, so you eyeball each quantity and unit cost before it reaches a customer. It's the deliberate fix for the industry complaint that AI estimates 'sometimes come back extremely high.' You stay in control of the final number.
Can I import my existing prices?+
Yes. Upload your current cost catalog as a CSV — SKUs, descriptions, unit costs, markup — and the AI quotes at your real numbers instead of generic ones. You can also add and edit catalog items by hand any time.
Do you charge per proposal or per estimate?+
No. Solo includes 10 AI estimates a month; Pro and Crew are unlimited. Proposals, e-signatures, and deposit collection are never metered. You will never get a surprise overage bill for quoting more work.
What stack are you built on?+
Next.js 15 on AWS Amplify Hosting, Claude for the AI estimating engine, and Stripe for e-signatures and deposit payments. Boring, proven infrastructure — deliberately.
